Toolbot – an automated rental system for power tools launched a crowdinvestment campaign on Seedmatch – the German market leader for equity-based-crowdfunding.
After potential investors bailed out during the Corona Pandemic because they were now focusing on risk minimization, the startup thingk.systems, which is behind toolbot, decided to motivate its fanbase, which is enthusiastic about the sustainable approach, to finance the further development and expansion of the offer.
The idea seems to work out – toolbot already collected 98.000 Euro in the first four days – at 100.000 Euro the funding threshold is reached.
With this investment, thingk.systems wants to develop and implement automation functions that are available as a prototype and ready for the market. This should further reduce personnel costs and increase the availability of the tools. Beyond the rental of tools, the system could be used in the future to rent out everything that is rarely used, but useful: Sports equipment, media products, toys and cleaning equipment. Most importantly, such a platform offers an infrastructure for networking such products, since connection to the Internet is mandatory for the operation of the system. In this way, not only new functions for products could be developed in the future. Rather, the rental platform could become a hub between manufacturers of equipment, consumables, logistics and services if, as thingk.systems plans, it can be found in all the centers of major cities in the future.
